Themes/CategoriesThe contest invites entries in two categories: Nature and Wildlife.
Nature PhotographyNature photographs include photographs shot outdoors displaying natural elements such as landscapes, seascapes, mountains, rivers and lakes, trees, flowers, plants as well as textures of these elements. Nature has its order and your pictures are expected to highlight the sublime aesthetics of nature.
Wildlife PhotographyWildlife photography is all about capturing animals in their natural habitat. Capture the magic moments of the animals while they are hunting, resting, frolicking, feasting on their prey or looking out for a mate. Catch their majestic actions. Create their portraits. Your picture could become the clarion call for wildlife conservation!
JudgesVincent Versace is an internationally recognized pioneer in the art and science of digital photography. His passion for natural light photography is manifest not only in his work but also through his role as a creative and technical leader, contributing to innovative breakthroughs across the entire digital image value chain.
Vincent is a recipient of the Computerworld Smithsonian Award in Media Arts & Entertainment and the Shellenberg fine art award. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of American History. He is the photographer of Immediate Assistants Medical Rescue Go Team. The entrant must be the sole owner of the copyright. By entering your photograph into the competition, you grant to Tumbhi.com the non-commercial non-exclusive right to use your images for promotion of the EXPRESSIONS online photo competition and for promotion of the Tumbhi.com project in any media. Should Tumbhi.com want to use awarded images for commercial publications, this will only be done with prior written consent by the photographer and for a reproduction fee. How do I participate in the contest?

How much does it cost to enter the competition?
The entry fee for the contest is US $1 per photograph. You will be able to pay using the secured online payment gateways such as PayPal and CCAvenue. All major credit/ debit cards are accepted. Indian residents can also pay using bank transfer.
I am not a registered member of Tumbhi.com or photography.tumbhi.com. Can I still enter?
No, you need to be a registered member to enter the contest. You need to register once and then you can access Tumbhi.com as well as Photography.tumbhi.com site(s)
I'm an Indian citizen living abroad. Can I still participate?
Yes, of course. The competition is open for worldwide audience.
Can I interpret the theme in my own unique way?
Of course. In fact, the more imaginative you are, the judges will all the more appreciate your vision.
How many entries can I send?
There is no limit to the number of entries from an individual. But you should not send the same entry again. So please select the best of your photographs and participate.
Do photos have to be taken with a digital camera?
Can I send a CD containing my photos?
No, we are not accepting entries on a CD. There is only one ways in which you can submit your entries-online.
I have a fantastic shot, but I'm not sure it really fits the theme. Should I still enter it?
The themes of our contests are largely interpretative. As long as a photograph connects to a theme in some way, you can submit your entries.
How much image editing do you allow?
We do realize that digital photographs need some amount of post-processing to look their best. Hence, we will accept corrections or enhancements for colors, contrast and brightness of an image, cropping, or the creation of a panorama. Entries that have been excessively manipulated so that it looks unrealistic will be disqualified. After all, this is a photography contest, not a contest for graphics or image manipulation.
How big should my photographs be?
If you are uploading entries online, the digital image files should be JPG/PNG/JPEG files. The file size should not exceed 25MB per photo.
Do I retain the copyright of my images?
Absolutely! Every entrant will retain copyrights of his/her image.
Why do I need to be logged in to the site in order to submit a photo?
You need to log in before submitting the entries so that we can tag your entries with your profile. Your email id acts as unique identifier for the contest.
How do I know that you've received my entry?
Once you've sent your entry, we will send you a confirmation mail for the same and you can cross view it in your “My Profile”. If you can see it there, that means we have received it.
How will my photograph be judged?
Tumbhi.com has appointed well known International photographers (Mr. Vincent Versace & Mr. Sunjoy Monga) as Jury to determine the winning images. The parameters will include vision, composition, exposure, technique, message conveyed and the overall appeal of the image.
When will the winners be announced?
The prize winners and honorable mentions for Tumbhi Presents “Expressions 2013 (Nature & Wildlife Special)”- Photography Contest will be published in the on http://photography.tumbhi.com by 13th September 2013
When I submit a photo to the Expression -Photography Contest', what rights does Tumbhi.com and 'Photography.tumbhi.com' have regarding my submission?
By entering your images into the competition, entrants agree to allow Expression Photography Contest and Tumbhi.com to use the pictures for editorial and promotional purposes without payment, for a period of three years from the date of declaration of results. The images will be reproduced with due credit to the photographers.
Are release forms required when submitting a photograph to the contest?
The entrant must be the sole creator of his/her images and must also own the copyrights and rights to reproduction of all pictures entered into the contest. It is the legal responsibility of the entrant to ensure that publication of the photographs by Tumbhi.com raises no legal claims.
I'd like to enter a photo that has previously been published. Is that allowed?

How old can my photograph be?
There are no restrictions regarding when the image has been shot.
Will my entries be visible online to others?
Yes. This website only allows you to upload images. While you will be able to view your own entries, visitors of this website or other entrants will be able to view your entries, rate & comment also. Once the judging and authentication of the images are complete, the final results will be available for public display.
I can't remember which photographs I've already submitted. Can you tell me which of my photographs you've received?
Once you upload a photograph on this website, your entries will be visible in your "My Profile”. You can login -> click on "My Profile" and see your entries there.
