Announcement of Final Winners!
Announcing the Winners of Tumbhi’s Nature & Wildlife Photography Contest
Winner: Joel forte for River Crossing
Sunjoy Monga (Contest Judge-Tumbhi Nature & Wildlife Special 2012) remarks: Ant Crossing. There is simply one word to describe this image – Magical. A tiny subject, seldom slightly above ground level, invariably in gloomily dimly lit environs …. And to be captured so beautifully in this vivid setting, and as if to have an icing on the cake, the reflection in the pool of water is so perfect, there is an almost mesmerizing feel to this image. Well Done.
Runner Up: Jens Currie for Wildbeast Jumping
Sunjoy Monga (Contest Judge-Tumbhi Nature & Wildlife Special 2012) remarks: You may have seen many and better images of Wildebeest jumping and running. But there is just that little spur of the moment feel to this image that makes it special. There is an almost synchronized feel to the angle of the mother and calf, splendidly caught mid-air, almost as if they are being pursued by some hunter while the rest of the flock feeds unconcerned in the backdrop. Adding to the mood is the fleeting form of a zebra, just behind the mother wildebeest. Perfect image to depict how just that moment can make a difference.
A Big Congratulations to the Winners from Tumbhi Team!
